dONATIONS TO THE RSBF
All donations to the Royal Signals Benevolent Fund are gratefully received. Every penny is spent specifically on welfare, helping to improve the quality of life of those less fortunate present and former members of the Corps, who are in conditions of hardship or distress.
Nothing is taken for administrative purposes.
Gift Aid is the easiest, most cost efficient way to give to The Royal Signals Benevolent Fund, because all you have to do is fill in a Gift Aid declaration when you make a charitable donation.
Under the Gift Aid scheme, the Government tops up any donation you make with basic tax relief.
It works like this; You wish to give the Benevolent Fund £10.00. We, as the registered charity, can claim back the basic rate of income tax, making your donation worth £12.82 to us. If you are a higher-rate taxpayer, you can, through your tax return, claim back 18% - the gap between basic tax of 22% and higher rate at 40%.
Donations from individuals in 2009 totaled £13,297 and if each donation had been supported by a Gift Aid declaration, this amount would have increased by 3,324.
Gift Aid is simple to claim. You have to fill in a Gift Aid Declaration but this is a simply a matter

of downloading the form completing it and sending it, together with your cheque to:

iNTRODUCTION TO CORPS FUNDS
The main source of income for The Association is by serving soldiers, who contribute to Corps Funds through the 'Days Pay Scheme' - basically a days pay is contributed every year.
This is supplemented by miscellaneous donations from
branches and individuals, plus the occasional legacy.
All such donations are most gratefully received and are used specifically on welfare.
pURPOSE OF CORPS FUNDS
Corps Funds are regulated by a Trust Deed that is registered
with the Charity Commissioners
and which sets out the main purpose for which they may be
used.
These are:
• The relief of poverty among all members of the Corps, serving and retired, their families and dependants. This is the main area of expenditure.
• Donations to charitable organisations concerned with the welfare of Signallers and their dependants.
• Maintaining and improving the physical efficiency and morale of the Corps at large by the provision of funds for such activities as sport and adventure training and the preservation of the Corps heritage.
